"Into the Mouth of Madness" movie review - 4 sparklers

In the Mouth of Madness (1995)
Directed by John Carpenter
GOOD FLICK which absolutely holds up over time if you give it a little bit of leeway.
Suspense, horror, supernatural elements, mystery, good writing, good acting = WORTH WATCHING or owning. Sam Neil, an insurance investigator, searches for the mysteriously missing thriller writer and finds himself inside a story within a story. This is one of the best and probably more unknown John Carpenter films. A cameo by Charlton Heston is quirky – why did he take this role – money!? Honestly it’s not a perfectly made film so you can pick up the 1995 feeling sometimes, but it’s a very cool story that plays with your mind and the film evokes that nicely. It feels like an homage to Steven King.

"House of 1000 Corpses" movie review - 5 sparklers

House of 1000 Corpses (2003)
Written & Directed by Rob Zombie
Creepy, gross, insane, delirious humor and addictive film! A roller coaster ride of horror, MTV style, twisted tale. Horrified by the gore, I couldn’t turn away or turn it off. FAN-tastic characters. You love to hate the bad guys but you love their twisted Fellini style. Sid Haig the clown man? ROCKS!!! You hate the good guys attitudes but you don’t want them dead. But WHY are you bothering to unlock the stupid fence, man? Save your life NOT the fence!!!!!!!! I wanted to scream. I screamed.

“Chock-full-o-nuts”, high five to Rob Zombie. I also ask myself, “Do I need a psychiatrist bcuz I hate it and like it too?” Every horror-gore film lover needs their own private copy to worship. Go deep on the philosophical meaning – it’s there…. This is not for the gore-weak!

Me on St. Patrick's Day, 2009, Rome Italy

With all the Saints celebrated by the Catholic Church in Italy and particularly Rome - with the Vatican a mere step away - there is no celebration of St.Patrick!!! My boyfriend thought it was just a weird American thing, but he liked the part about being able to pinch me if I didn't wear green! I let him know that he wasn't allowed to pinch me since I WAS wearing green... AND... the Irish started it!!! May the wind be always at your back....

"Cabin Fever" movie review - 2.5 sparklers

Cabin Fever (2003)
Directed by
A disgusting disease party film. Gross and gory but no supernatural elements… solely a nasty somethin’ spreadin’ in the south creepy countryside of the USA. Good for late night chills with your friends where you can provide your own additional commentary! There are some ‘homages’, with the last one to the classic Night of the Living Dead. Well produced, good clean acting and pretty damn good special fx make-up.
